The house Casa Colibrí is located above the Sports Faculty of the Central University (Universidad Central), 600 meters west of the Av. Mariscal Sucre (Occidental). From the north the exit is marked with „Barrio Armero“. From the south you have to take the exit Av. Take La Gasca and immediately turn west (left) after the first opportunity. From the East, i.e. from the Av. La Gasca, drive towards Av. Mariscal Sucre and turn right after a tunnel. Indications for taxi drivers: „Barrio Armero, sobre la Av. Occidental, arriba de la Facultad de Deportes de la Universidad Central.“ At the beginning of the road to Barrio Armero stands a gatekeeper, who open the gate for the residents and their guests. From there you drive about 2 minutes uphill to the first house. From the airport, the journey takes about 60 minutes, which costs between 11.50 and 35 USD. Quitumbe Bus Station is about 30 minutes away. By taxi or bus you can reach the old town and the nightlife area (La Zona) in about 15 minutes. Teleférico (cable car) is about 5 minutes away. Due to its proximity to the Pichincha Volcano, Casa Colibrí has become a popular starting point for mountain hikes, sports activities such as mountain biking, or for observing typical bird species in the region.
